Ice and Fire

"Ice and Fire - Watercolour Diaries of Volcano Journeys" is about volcanoes. Tony Foster travelled to the Pacific Northwest, Montserrat, Bolivia and Hawaii. The result was an exhibition of forty of his works, priced from $US 2,500 - $US 14,500, which exhibited until 31 July 1999

Tony Foster has published a limited edition artist's book of his volcano journeys. "Ice and Fire" is an accordion-fold book IRIS printed by Nash Editions, Los Angeles, on Somerset paper, hand bound by the craftsman Peter Lane on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall. The binding is a relevant topo map and the book which is 13 cms x 13 cms when closed opens out to 162 cms x 13cms. It contains studies of volcanoes, notes and souvenirs. It is presented in an exquisite hand-made box, blind embossed with the title. Each book is signed and numbered by the artist. The edition is strictly limited to 200 copies and costs $450 (GB £250).
