With MB · 16 March 1999 · work steadily all day in fierce sun + cold wind · leave for Millers Landing in a golden evening glow · we can’t delay as there is no moon & we cannot canoe the swamp after dark · 17 March up at 5.00 · a grey glow in the eastern sky as we depart · a perfect tropical dawn over the island as we land so I work immediately · paint until 3.00 · return to the landing · pack · leave · the last day of 22 days canoeing ·
